If you were quick to install this week’s macOS updates from Apple, you might have seen a reference to Safari 16.3.1, but About Safari tells you you’re still on version 16.3. Did Software Update miss something?
No. It seems that the version originally billed on Apple’s security updates pages as 16.3.1 is (now) 16.3, but with a different build number to the Safari 16.3 that was released in January.
So if you’ve got build number 167614.4.6.11.6 (Big Sur) or 177614.4.6.11.6 (Monterey) then you’re good to go – at least for now.
